Importance of Prayer

Prayer is our direct line to God.

He loves to hear us pray about anything and everything. Prayer is also significant when we have people around us but we don’t really know whom to talk to about situations in life. God always has an open ear, even when we don’t hear His voice in return we can always trust that whatever we layout in prayer, God is taking care of it.

Psalm 34:15 - “The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry.”

It's all about the open conversation, we can always talk to God about things we may

not want to open up to other people about, and rest assured!… He won’t ever walk

away from you or give you the wrong advice. To be completely honest, I’ve often found myself avoiding praying about certain topics because I either thought they weren’t important enough to bring to God, I could control them, or I just didn't trust God. However, time and time again, I have

discovered that God cares about our problems more than we know. He

wants us to cast our burdens unto Him. Each time I open up to God about all areas

of my life, I always find a sense of unexplainable peace in knowing that I don’t

have to carry my burdens alone.

Psalm 5:3 - “In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.”

One stereotype that I think people often forget is that prayer doesn’t always have to be at a specific time or location, it can be in the small everyday moments of life like when you're driving to work, cooking dinner, before talking to your boss, etc. The important thing is that God sees your humbleness and desire to have an intimate relationship with Him.

1 John 5:14 -“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”
Philippians 4:6 - "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."

Make prayer a priority in your life. I encourage you to pray for three people today. Pray for one person who loves you, pray for one person who has hurt you, and then pray for yourself. God is listening, no matter what.
